Services

Here's a one-stop option for book design. We will create both a text file and a cover file ready to print Choose the fiction or non-fiction package. If your book (regardless of whether it is fiction or non-fiction) is straight text with chapter headers, choose the fiction package. If your book has any illustrations, bullet lists, tables, charts, subheadings or footnotes, choose the non-fiction package. In either package additional fees may apply for text and possibly for eBook conversion. Both packages are for paperback books, if you want a jacket an additional fee will be added.

Package Includes:

  • Email consultation with designer

  • Creation of title page

  • Creation of copyright page

  • Creation of table of contents

  • Layout up to 256 pages of text with running heads and folios (page numbers) from your MS Word or WordPerfect document. Text running longer than 256 formatted pages is assessed an additional charge of $75 per 64 pages.

  • Non-Fiction package of design elements. (Package includes up to 10 photos, 3 boxed text inserts per chapter, 5 bullet lists, 5 tables, 2 levels of subheads)

  • One PDF proof for proofreading

  • One round of corrections (up to 25) included. Over 25 corrections, price to be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.

  • Final PDF proof for OK prior to sending file to printer

  • Final PDF files for offset or digital printing*

  • Can be upgraded to Deluxe Non-Fiction text layout

  • Email consultation with designer

  • Choice of one of 12 different basic styles

  • Choice of any cover image available on www.DepositPhotos.com or hi-res image supplied by author

  • Insert author photo supplied by author as digital file

  • Insert bar code from author supplied ISBN

  • One round of corrections

  • Final PDF files for offset or digital printing*

Here at Self PublishingUS, we communicate to you on the progress of any job via phone or email. 

 

We expect you to do your part in supplying us with a finalized manuscript and no author should expect to continue “tweeking’ the text after the book has been laid out. However, it is understandable that once the interior has been designed that the author may catch some things they did not see before. That is why we allow one round of up to twenty-five free corrections for items like misspellings, punctuation changes, or grammar issues. Additional rounds come with a $45 file opening cost plus $1.50 for each correction.

 

The above does NOT include wholesale changes like switching out or adding images, removing or adding in paragraphs, or any style changes. Such alterations are not considered corrections but fall into the category of additional graphic design work which will be charged on a $90 an hour basis.

 

*NOTE: Our Design Service is offered exclusively to author/publishers who print books with Self PublishingUS.com No print ready files will be sent to customer until after books are printed. Once books are printed, you can request a copy of the print ready PDF files. Complete application files are also available after books are printed for an additional $149.
